Storms Arwen, Malik and Corrie have certainly left their mark on Kingussie and Badenoch!

Storm Corrie, in particular, has devastated some of the woodland around the town and blocked many of the footpaths.

The pictures below show just some of the trees brought down within the Mill Trail and near the Hydro Bridge:

Fortunately, and following significant volunteer effort, these trees have now been removed and the Mill Trail is accessible once again. Particular thanks is due to Piers Voysey for his skills with a chainsaw.

There are still many fallen trees affecting the rest of the footpath network. KCDC will work with landowners to help restore access in due course.

In the meantime, great care should be taken when traversing any of the affected footpaths.
