This week the new path joined with the old path that leads up to the summit cairn.
This prompted a wee celebration with some Prosseco – kindly supplied by Kenny Deans.
There’s still some fine tuning to do on the new section of path and landscaping to be completed on the redundant parts of the old path but the team have already started work on further repairs to the existing path heading down the south side of Creag Bheag.
Photos below (courtesy of Bob Kinnaird) show the team in action:
Fantastic work from all the volunteers, I’ve enjoyed watching, from a distance, all the movement on the top of the hill! Maybe one bonny day I’ll manage up to at least see the lower parts!!
Please pass on my appreciation and congratulations to all the volunteers and staff involved in the building and maintenance of the path. It’s a great way to access the hill and the views that go with it whilst not detracting from the surrounding environment.
