Hydro Fund support for Warm Spaces Project

In December 2022, the Hydro Fund provided £3,000 to a project to provide warm jackets and winter shoes to local schoolchildren in need.

The project forms part of the Warm Spaces Project run by Eppy Mackay at Kingussie Parish Church. Eppy arranged a discount from Mountain Warehouse in Aviemore and the beneficiaries were selected by senior teachers at Kingussie High School.

Eppy provided the following words of thanks:

The generous support from KCDC in providing funds to pay for warm waterproof winter jackets and shoes has been so appreciated the length and breadth of Badenoch.

From the High school to each of its feeder primary schools,  teachers, parents and pupils have come forward with words of grateful thanks and appreciation. It has been truly heartwarming.

Kingussie Parish Church also says a huge thank you to KCDC for believing in this project. To date we have helped 120 local families meaning the young people we have helped, arrive at school warm and dry. As a church we are grateful to have been the ‘vehicle’ which has helped make this happen.

We have been more than ably supported by the teachers of the schools  and the staff of Mountain Warehouse all who helped us enormously to get the project off the ground.

Thank you from Kingussie Parish Church.
