To comply with the terms of its Constitution and legal obligations, KCDC stipulates terms & conditions for applications to the Hydro Fund. Please take the time to study them and complete the checklist on page 3 of the application form.
General conditions.
Two levels of application are available:
Category A: For amounts up to £3,000.
- Only applications from organisations and individuals lying within the current community council boundary of Kingussie will be considered, i.e within post code PH21.
- Grant assisted projects must have a clearly identifiable benefit for the Kingussie community.
- Grants for capital projects and services will not be paid in full until the project has been completed or the service provided. Update reports and/or proof of completion will be requested.
- Applications must be submitted and approved before commencement of a project. No retrospective applications will be considered.
- Where contracted work or purchase of materials are involved, three quotations for each of these should be obtained and submitted, unless exceptional circumstances exist where these cannot be provided.
- Applications that contain match funding will be welcomed.
- If considered necessary, the Fund reserves the right to request additional information or plans. This may include requesting the applicant to meet with the Fund to answer questions on the application.
- Applications will normally be considered at six-monthly Fund meetings and applicants, then notified as soon as possible whether these have been accepted or declined. The application deadlines can be found on the Kingussie Community Development Company website.
- Applications should be accompanied by emailed copies of the organisation’s most recent independently examined accounts, its constitution and three cost quotations. However, if it is not possible to provide any of these three requirements, then a letter explaining the reason must accompany the application.
Category B: For amounts up to £750.
- Only applications from organisations and individuals lying within the current community council boundary of Kingussie will be considered, i.e within post code PH21.

- Applications will be considered at monthly KCDC director meetings and applicants, then notified as soon as possible whether these have been accepted or declined.
Publicity
It is important that the work of the Fund is acknowledged in any published materials that relate to the grant-funded project. If an application is successful, organisations or individuals are required to:
- acknowledge the contribution of the Fund in any publicity they might produce,
- allow and participate in any publicity that the Fund might organise,
- produce a brief report for KCDC records.
