The Kingussie Wildflower Meadows project got underway on Sunday (11th Sept) when an enthusiastic group of volunteers, including a couple of KCDC directors, turned up to rake the rough area of grass at the end of Garraline Terrace.
The project is being led by Rachel Avery with support from The Highland Council and funding from KCDC Hydro Fund and the Cairngorm Trust.
Working with volunteers and children from Kingussie Primary School the project will gradually transform underused grassy areas into colourful wildflower meadows to provide food for pollinating insects and colour and vibrancy to our parks and verges.

Look out for more dates in October when you can learn new skills and help make space for nature around Kingussie.
